Me: Obviously, I can't speak about you and your sister, Melessa. My other daughter, Marquia, and her brother, Malik (I lovingly and endearingly refer to them as my “ghetto twins,” aka “project twins” because they are only 24 days apart.) I was not present at the hospital to witness their births. Unfortunately, both times, I was at work and could not abandon my post. I was fortunate to be there for Mitchell's birth. Witnessing your mother in labor and then bringing your wonderful brother into the world was an experience I will never forget. I fell in love with your mom all over again. I gained a different love and respect for women in general. All men should witness the birth of their children.
